Der Kleine Tod– SAND

Seayou Records 2024

It is among the most mysterious songs of the legendary duo Nancy Sinatra & Lee Hazlewood. On the one hand, a hauntingly beautiful love song with a sixties soundscape. On the other hand, the melancholy look at a summer affair with an inevitable breakup. "Sand" fascinated generations of music fans. An ode to love and transience, now reinterpreted as a dark electropop tune with an avant-garde touch and a human theremin instrumental. Between a gentle synth-heartbeat, whipping percussions, and exotic instruments, the song creates a hypnotic pull of sensual melancholy. The accompanying video was filmed in Berit Gilmas childhood garden, a water plant nursery. An enchanted place inhabited by amphibians and waterlilies. It beguiles with natural mysticism and flashy psychedelics.
